OPOS 2025: “One Place One Story” Summer Camp Wraps Up a Meaningful Journey in Bac Ninh

From June 16 to 26, 2025, the “One Place One Story – OPOS” summer camp was held at Hoang Hoa Tham Secondary School in Bac Ninh City, bringing together 120 local secondary students and 41 volunteers from Saigon South International School (SSIS) and Lawrence S. Ting School (LSTS).

The OPOS summer camp is an annual initiative aimed at helping students enhance their English communication, build essential soft skills, and explore the diverse cultures of Vietnam. Each year, the program selects a different province as its destination, offering participants new experiences and meaningful connections with local communities. This year, the cultural heartland of Bac Ninh – renowned for its traditional Quan họ folk singing – was chosen to continue this inspiring journey.

Over 10 days, students took part in a variety of educational and exploratory activities, ranging from English lessons to physical games and mental challenges. Field trips to Dong Ho folk painting village and Phu Lang pottery village provided valuable insights into traditional Vietnamese culture, deepening their appreciation and understanding of their heritage.

The program concluded with a “Storytelling Event” – a platform for students to confidently share their experiences and personal growth in their own words. These simple yet heartfelt stories vividly reflected the transformation they underwent during this short but impactful journey.

The OPOS summer camp is more than just a place for learning and connection – it’s an opportunity for students to discover more about themselves, the cultural values surrounding them, and the power of storytelling.
