Nguyen Minh Quan, a student of class 12T1 at Lawrence S. Ting School, successfully navigated a rigorous selection process and secured admission to five top U.S. universities: UMass Amherst, Drexel University, Stony Brook University, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Vanderbilt University in the 2025 admissions cycle. His application essay focused on the issue of saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta.

During his time at Lawrence S. Ting School, Minh Quan has achieved remarkable milestones, ranking among the top 10% of students in his grade and receiving the Outstanding Student Award for four consecutive years (grades 9 through 12). He was also recognized as an Outstanding Young Leader for the 2024–2025 school year. Beyond academics, Minh Quan has actively engaged in various projects, research initiatives, and extracurricular activities, continuously honing his skills, mindset, and leadership abilities in pursuit of his university aspirations.
With a deep passion for engineering and a strong commitment to community service, Minh Quan has dedicated significant time and effort to developing water filtration devices and raising funds to improve water infrastructure for communities affected by saltwater intrusion.
