As the vibrant aura of the upcoming Spring fills the air, The 19th Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk is set to take place on January 20, 2024, fostering happiness and unity within the community. The event will be held at The Crescent in Phu My Hung, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. The collective strides of participants in this charity walk have played a significant role in assisting less fortunate families to commemorate the traditional Tet with greater warmth and joy.
This annual event is conducted by Phu My Hung Corporation, in partnership with the People’s Committees of various neighboring districts and counties, in order to serve a dual purpose. It not only promotes the habit of walking for health enhancement but also provides a platform for donations to assist the underprivileged.
Over the course of 18 years, the contributions gathered from this walk have been channeled to the Funds for the Poor, managed by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Districts 7, 8, Nha Be, and Binh Chanh Counties. These funds enable these districts to extend their support to the less fortunate in various ways, such as presenting Tet gifts, constructing charitable homes, repairing houses to prevent leaks, or providing livelihood assistance.
Every participant in the walk, contributing VND 130,000, will receive a T-shirt and a drink. Additionally, they will have the chance to win appealing prizes through a lucky draw conducted at the conclusion of the event.
